Is there a mistake in the model year of the car?

Imported cars such as North American cars have a 17-digit (since 1980) code number to identify the car.
This is called a serial number, and its official name is Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which is the vehicle identification number in Japanese.
This code is always on each vehicle and there is a difference for each vehicle.
The 10th digit from the left of the 17 digits of this code is the exact model year of the car, so
Please confirm by serial number , not by year confirmation by the registration date of the first year of vehicle verification.

* When making inquiries about parts, please write down this serial number as much as possible.

The position of the serial number is when the car is viewed from the front, and a plate with the serial number or a printed plate is installed at the lower right of the windshield (on the opposite side depending on the car). In the case of some European cars and cars manufactured in other areas, it may be located on the side of the door edge or in the engine room.

Model year code chart:
A: 1980 B: 1981 C: 1982 D: 1983 E: 1984 F: 1985 G: 1986 H: 1987 J: 1988 K: 1989 L: 1990 M: 1991 N: 1992 P: 1993 R: 1994 S: 1995 T: 1996 V: 1997 W: 1998 X: 1999 Y: 2000 1: 2001 2: 2002 3: 2003 4: 2004 5: 2005 6: 2006 7: 2007 8: 2008 9: 2009 A: 2010 B: 2011 C: 2012 D : 2013 E: 2014 F: 2015 G: 2016 H: 2017 J: 2018 K: 2019 L: 2020 M: 2021 N: 2022 P: 2023 R: 2024 S: 2025 T: 2026 V: 2027 W: 2028 X: 2029 Y: 2030 1: 2021 2: 2022 3: 2023 4: 2024 5: 2026

In the case of the serial number in this photo, the 10th digit from the left is "Y", so you can confirm that the model year is 2000 by collating with the above model year code.

In many cases, the serial number (VIN code) is printed on the label or tag on the door edge, so if you check both, you can be sure.
